The building started out as the town grocery store back in the late 1800's. It sold hay to local farmers and was the one stop meeting place for a roaring game of chess right there on the front benches under the window. The second floor became a gentlemen's meeting house for the North End of Deerfield. The first floor changed with time and became a Book Store, eventually a Pizza Restaurant , then a grocery store/ice cream parlor and finally closed in the late 1980's. It changed hands many times and came under disrepair. The Lion Family eventually adopted the building and brought it back to its former glory in the early 2000's. They added a little cafe and served specialty beers and sandwiches. Eventually we bought the building 18 years ago and turned it into a full service restaurant, now known as The Lazy Lion Restaurant. We have 15 Taps, including a lot of local beers, 2 big screen TV's to watch the games, take your chance at KENO, play Trivia on Tuesday at 6:30 pm and most of all enjoy each others company while listening to local music on Friday and Saturday nights. Our menu has a little of everything for everyone and changes with the seasons.
